Transits
Planetary Transits
While the horoscope is made from the picture of the sky at the time of birth as seen from the place of birth, the transits of the planets deliver the events in the life of the native. We can study the transits and use it together with Dasha, Rashis, Planets and Nakshatras placements in the horoscope to predict a life event, good or bad. The duration of the transit of each of these planets in one Zodiac is as follows. Saturn is the slowest staying in one sign for 2.5 Years, while Moon is the fastest as it stays in one sign for 2.25 days and completes one round in around 28 days.
Most of the time, the transit is seen from the displacement of transiting planet from natal Moon, it is seen less from Ascendant. Jupiter, Rahu/Ketu and Saturn stays in one Zodiac for more than a year thus they have long lasting impact on the Native during one transit, their movement to another Zodiac brings major changes in the life. Saturn is said to be the planet of Karma, while Jupiter is the karka of all auspicious events and growth (good or bad), thus if during the transit Saturn and Jupiter together influence a house either by Placement or by Aspect then such transit activates that particular house. Any benefic event, like Marriage, Child Birth, Professional milestones can be predicted with such transit of planets.
There are many techniques to understand and predict using transit of planets. A few of them are as below:
Transit of Mahadasha Lord : Transit of the planet, whose Mahadasha is ongoing, activates the house. So, if the current Mahadasha is of Jupiter, and Jupiter enters into, say, 10th House of Work, Profession, Status, it will activate this house. And since Jupiter is the planet of growth and prosperity, native can expect growth in his/her Career, Status and other themes associated with this house. Similarly, if suppose Venus is the lord of current Mahadasha and Venus enters 5th house of Romance and Relationship, it will activate this house and create chances of meeting a new partner or developing good relationship with existing partner.
Transit of Lagan Lord: Lagan is you, and Lagan lord is how you manage yourself and the efforts you make. So, when Lagan lord transits in a new house, it activates that house. The result of such activation will be based on self effort. So, for example if Lagan lord is Mercury and it transits into 9th house of Father or Dharma, your effort towards Father or act of Dharma will help you to get beneficial results during this period.
Dual transit of Saturn and Jupiter: Saturn is planet of Karma and Jupiter is planet of Dharma, if these two planets conjunct or aspect any house together during transit it activates that house positively. We need to remember that Saturn aspects 3rd, 7th and 10th house from itself and Jupiter aspects 5th, 7th and 9th house from its position.
Transit of Rahu-Ketu: Rahu-Ketu are always opposite to each other and forms an axis. They always transit in opposite direction (called Retrograde) to the normal transit of other planets. Shift in Rahu-Ketu axis after every 1.5 years brings changes in everyone's life depending on the house and sign it is transiting to and the planets placed in that house. Rahu creates an environment of illusion, while Ketu signifies detachment. Both these planets have high energy and hence impacts the life in great way. Specifically, if either of these two planets gets associated with Mars (another high energy malefic planet), such combination is capable of creating havoc in native's life.
